Forex Trading – feast or famine, fact and fiction.

Well so much for the catchy headline. I’ve been papertrading forex for about 3 months now, trialling different trading systems. I have found some good ones. It is a fertile breeding ground for ‘get rich quick’, fly-by-night ’scam’ products. It can be a steady income earner for the disciplined trader who can follow a winning strategy and who has control over his/her emotions, otherwise it will be a feast for the market-makers and a famine for the small trader. I believe that you can succeed at the game, but you need to educate yourself, get a reputable broker with a good trading platform and papertrade the system of your choice first. You will only really test your emotional control through trading with real money, but bear in mind you can enter very small  positions that will allow you to trade very economically until you gain confidence with live trading. Winning at forex requires mental discipline and patience, a winning system and sound money management. Only trade with capital you can afford to lose. Remember it is a 24 hour market 5 days a week, and there is always another trade. When you are researching the various products that are available, a handy resource is at Forex Peace Army review site. One product I can personally recommend you to trial is forex-trading-made-ez . The product creator George trades his own very reasonably priced system and provides prompt personal email support with  a preview ebook and trade videos. If you the reader can recommend a system that you have personally tested, please let me know.

The Internet Frog searches for the Online Prince!

I’m not a total newbie. I’ve sold some stuff out of the garage on Trade Me, New Zealand’s Ebay equivalent. It’s an easy way to get your product online , have some fun with listing sales copy and spend a little more to get what is basically a classified ad with a photo and keep it on the ‘front page’  the top of the search category. People sell all sorts of stuff. It may save a trip to the dump – I sold an old couch for $6 and the buyer came and took it away for me!  Before that I think they sat on the floor, so win-win. Plus I get a little smiley and a star for my feedback rating. But it’s not so easy when I try to break into Internet Marketing and my only brand is my name, and I can’t piggyback off an established brand. So I go get my name as a domain but hang on, who knows to search for me, and am I a cele-britney ;o) ? Then I find my name John Kelly, is about as common as John Smith. Now how does anyone pick me out of the throng?  I am the internet Frog waiting for my transforming Kiss. Well here’s a Lilypad I found which might help YOU learn how to join the royal family where Cash is King !!  It’s an A-Z University for Online Marketers and it’s FREE  !  The Internet Marketing University  (I’m a member- look for john kelly :o ))

World Internet Summit Gold Coast Mar12-15

I have been poking the internet with a stick since 2005, looking for a way to make some money, well to be truthful, a lot of money !! I’ve found a lot of ways to spend money, not ‘lost’ I reassure my wife, just invested. I travelled to the World Internet Summit in Melbourne Mar 2007, where I got a good look at some of the ‘gooroos’ up close, pressed the flesh, asked some questions, took a few photos, met a LOT of people from all walks of life, with all different size bank balances. Also people like  Mike Filsaime, Stephen Pierce, Mark Joyner to name a notable few. Nice guys, wealthy, what have they got that you and I don’t have?  Cashflow I hear you say? Some great ideas? A mentor or a system? That experience showed me real people behind the websites and the huge size of the market, and how much business is being done through the internet. I’ve been through the heyday of  network marketing with crowds of excited people getting hyped up on dream fulfillment, and the WIS event certainly has it’s fair share of group excitement, and if you’ve been a network marketer, well this is the biggest network on the planet !  The whole cross section of society is there – the good, the bad and the ugly, and that’s just the speakers ;o).  But the memory of that event is part of what keeps me focussed on building a business on the net, and I have a personal connection to some internet names. One of those names is based in my home town, but I didn’t know about him until I met him at WIS. I joined his affiliate marketing programme in December. I’ll keep you posted.  So maybe WIS holds a key for you, “nothing ventured, nothing gained”.  Check the big picture at  World Internet Summit

Hello world – my first post – I’m “Stump”ed.

Which brings me to ‘Stump’ the 10 yr old Sussex Spaniel who is now America’s top dog. I’m a semi-retired veterinarian. I love animal stories. He makes me feel that there is hope for a 58 yr old baby-boomer like myself, on the internet info highway. Maybe it’s not so much about teaching an old dog new tricks, but getting a new lease of life. That’s what I want to do. I’ve been hanging around the internet, barking at the tyres of successful internet marketers, so to speak, and now I’ve got my ticket to ride.  Shortly after hearing about Stump’s entry into the record books (oldest winner in 133yr history of Westminster Dog Show), I happened to rent the movie “Bucket List” with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, and once again I felt the urge to grab hold of my life and give it a good shake. Does that mean I’ll be hurling myself out an aeroplane in a tandem jump ? maybe.  Writing my first post is a bit like a parachute jump. Will I cast myself onto stony ground or the fertile soil? What do I hope to achieve?  Will this help feed my family, kill my mortgage  and help me cross off my Bucket List? – I am going to do my best to make it so. I invite your comments. Come on in, I won’t bite ;o)
